I have decided to change my topic from Teen Pregnancy vs. Reality tv to Texting while Driving. This is a very serious problem in the world and it needs to be stopped!!
One “Teen Mom” star stated in court that she makes $140,000 per season, not including endorsements and appearances…. How is this not promoting that it is ok to become a teen mom and then MTV will basically pay you to use you in which ever way they want.
As students progress through school, they are asked to read increasingly complex informational and graphical texts in their courses. The ability to understand and use the information in these texts is key to a student’s success in learning.Successful students have a repertoire of…
Hi everyone out there in Tumblr. My name is Jessica and I’m a student at Kaplan University and I am starting this blog for my college comp 2 class.
I just got done watching The Pregnancy Project which is basically what my project is about teen pregnancy. This movie is different thought the main star faked her pregnancy to basically prove that their is stereotyping against teen mothers in high school. She did figure out that there is a lot of stereotyping about her fake pregnancy and other other teen mom’s in the school. This movie has made me think because there really wasn’t many teen mom’s when I was in high school so we really didn’t have this problem but now a days there are many teen mom’s in high school. 400,000 teens got pregnant in 2009 and I figure it’s just going to get higher and higher as the years go on. When we think of teens getting pregnant our minds go straight to the stereotypes that usually come with teen moms like they ruined their lives or they will be on welfare before to long but sometimes this isn’t true and sometimes you never know if that teen got raped or what happened to them that they got pregnant. Yes teen pregnancy is 100% preventable but they parents and the teens have to talk about ways to prevent pregnancy. Today reality tv doesn’t help with this problem it’s just going to get much worse with time if we don’t do something about it.
My project for college comp 2 is going to be on Teen pregnancy and Reality Tv. Teen pregnancy is a really hot topic right now because there are a lot of teens getting pregnant. In my option reality tv is not really helping or promoting teen pregnancy because shows like 16 & Pregnant and also Teen Mom & Teen Mom 2 are just not showing the struggles of teen mom’s but they are not showing how to prevent pregnancy also on some of the shows abuse between parents. 16 & Pregnant is a show that starts out when they are pregnant and follow them through the birth of their babies and then they switch to Teen Mom where they follow the parents and the children so far up to the age of two. The shows have a lot of drama in them and again some abuse. In the shows they don’t even talk about ways to prevent pregnancy. Teen pregnancy can be preventable but parents need to talk to their teens about sex and we need to have a sex education class that the teens will actually want to be in the class.
Lesson inspired by this one!
For my third center, I created a tic-tac-toe board by taping together nine Ziploc sandwich bags. I wrote sight words on 4x6 notecards and placed them inside the bags. I cut out Xs and Os using the die cut machine.
